Chochmas Nashim: Bechukotai: Blessings

CHOCHMAS NASHIM: BECHUKOTAI: BLESSINGS

Today is Chaf Vav Iyar, it is my birthday.  The rebbe tells us that each day, G-d returns our souls to us anew, as if each day we are reborn with the same opportunities as the day before to actualize our potential and perfect G-d’s image with which we were born.

This week’s torah portion of Bechukotai is filled with blessings heaped upon man by G-d if we follow G-d’s Torah and laws:  Rain in its beneficial time, the land will yield its produce and trees their fruit and there will be an abundance of food to satiation, you will live securely in your land, and I will bring peace in your land and you will sleep without fear, wild beasts will cease from the land as will the sword, your enemies will fall before you.”

Let me add:  Shefa/Abundance.  May HKBH grant you an abundance of good health, parnassah/sustenance which comes easily, partners for you and your children who are healthy and wealthy in spiritual and material wealth.  You should have an abundance of menuchat nefesh/peace for your soul and menuchat haguf/rest for your body, may all your ailments be cured, may you be saved from that which is troubling you, may you hear only good news.  You should have an abundance of Yiddishe nachat/pure joy from your children, wisdom to see G-d’s daily blessings and miracles, “good eyes” which see only the positive in people and life.  May we see the rebuilding of our holy temple in Jerusalem speedily in our days and may G-d grant you all that you want for yourselves only for the good.

Shabbat Shalom.
