Passing of Amy Rosenbaum

It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of Amy Rosenbaum, on December 3rd; the beloved wife of Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum, Rabbi of Temple Israel.

Amy Rosenbaum graduated from Midwood High School, which Rabbi Rosenbaum also attended and graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, with honors, having earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. Having won top awards at Pratt in Fashion Design, she went on to become a leading young designer of women’s clothing on Seventh Avenue.

A Friday evening prayer funeral service took place on Friday, December 4th (below).  A private funeral interment service took place as well.  The shiva information is for tonight (Monday, December 7th) is below. Tomorrow’s (Tuesday, December 8th) different shiva Zoom information will follow tomorrow.

Tonight, Tuesday, December 8^th at 7:00PM, the Rosenbaum and Pincus families will be sitting Shiva for our beloved Amy Rosenbaum.  This time-honored ritual, recognized in the Talmud dating back to the story of Noah in Genesis, enables mourners to join together, share their remembrances and provide spiritual and emotional comfort to the bereaved.

 

COVID-19 prevents us from being physically present for Amy’s husband, our Rabbi Jay, their son and daughter-in-law Jordan and Michelle, their grandchildren Dylan, Ryan and Liam, her mother Beverly Pincus and brother Larry Pincus.  Therefore, Shiva will be conducted virtually.
