It is with personal sorrow that I announce the passing of Rabbi Moishe Leifer, a pillar of the Far Rockaway and Five Towns community. I grew up in the white shul with the Leifer family. Rabbi Leifer always greeted everyone he saw with a larger than life warmth. He was the “Sar Hamashkim” in the White Shul, the man with the “good bottle,” who poured the schnapps as he wished all simchas and l’chaim, over and over. He and his wife, Sara, transmitted this kindness and generosity to their next generations, to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. May HKBH comfort them among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
We announce with sorrow the passing of Rabbi Moishe Leifer a”h, beloved husband of Sara Leifer and beloved father of Chani Klein, Malki Rosen, Mordechai and Yoni Leifer.
The levayah will take place today Sunday, March 29th, followed by kevurah in Eretz Yisrael on Monday, March 30th. Shivah will conclude on Friday afternoon, April 3rd.
